Oops! I did it again
I know, I know. Bad pop song reference. I just can’t help myself sometimes. Anyways, you’ve probably noticed that the site layout had changed (yet again!). Scarcely a month after a major revamp, I’ve gone and played with the theme again. This time, it’s more of a tweak, a touch up. Oh who am I kidding? It’s an almost complete overhaul of the previous design. I’ve kept the major theme elements that I liked, namely the the colour scheme and two column layout but reworked the rest.
So, what’s new with version 2.0?
- “Interesting” news now appears in the sidebar, separating from actual posts.
- The header looked a little bland, so I’ve added a random banner generator.
- Permanent links have been moved to the bottom of the page, leaving the sidebar open for “future development”.
- Restructured the comments area.
- I’ve always liked serif fonts, so the site is now in serif.
- Rearranged the layout of posts on the homepage and listing pages.
- Added thumbnail images to main posts.
- Added a tweet feed.
There will still be some minor updates happening in the background, which shouldn’t cause too many disruptions.
As always, if the site looks screwed or kinda wonky, please do contact me and I’ll look into it. The caveat is if you’re browsing with Internet Explorer 6 or earlier. If you report a problem viewing the site with IE5.5/IE6, I will just point my finger and laugh at you. Please, for my sanity and your security, upgrade to the latest version. Or download a standards compliant brower like Firefox or Chrome.
I hope you enjoy the new layout. Comments and critique as always, are welcome.
